The wood biochar production equipment provided by Mingjie Group is a continuous biomass pyrolysis machine. It is a fully automatic charcoal manufacturing machine that integrates drying, preheating, and carbonization. It uses wood chips as raw material for direct continuous feeding and discharging. Most modern biochar plants utilize continuous pyrolysis systems. The wood biochar production equipment can achieve 24-hour continuous operation and features low energy consumption and high production capacity.

Wood Biochar Production Equipment

The syngas is one of the biomass pyrolysis products, it is recycled and used for continuous pyrolysis and carbonization. The combustible gas enters the flue for purification and filtration before being recycled and burned. It completely solves the problem of traditional carbonization equipment failing to meet emission standards.

The full utilization of syngas and waste heat enables the drying, preheating, and carbonization stages of the raw materials. It solves the problems of high energy consumption, high pollution, and high costs associated with traditional carbonization furnaces.

The wood biochar production equipment has a high degree of automation. It is also very suitable for commercial biochar projects and can facilitate carbon credit projects (carbon dioxide removal CDR).

How Wood is Converted into Biochar by Continuous Pyrolysis

The principle of wood biochar production equipment is based on thermochemical decomposition under oxygen-deficient conditions at high temperatures. This wood pyrolysis process not only yields solid biochar but also produces combustible gases and bio-oil.

Crushing and Drying

The wood raw materials must first undergo crushing and drying treatment. The particle size is controlled within a reasonable range (usually 5-20mm), and the moisture content is reduced to below 15% through a drying system. This prevents excessive energy consumption due to water evaporation during the pyrolysis process.

Feeding

The dried wood chips are then transported to the feeder via a conveyor belt. The feeding rate is precisely matched with the subsequent pyrolysis rate and discharge rate to ensure a stable amount of material in the furnace. The feeding port is equipped with a sealing device and an inert gas protection system to prevent air infiltration and maintain a low-oxygen environment. A slightly negative pressure is also maintained inside the furnace (usually -10Pa to -15Pa).

Pyrolysis Carbonization and Discharge

The material then enters the main carbonization furnace for pyrolysis carbonization. After 10-20 minutes of carbonization, the material is discharged, and the wood biochar is discharged through a water-cooled slag removal machine. The intelligent control system monitors parameters such as temperature, oxygen content, and negative pressure in real time to ensure production stability and product quality uniformity.

Combustible Gas Generation

After approximately 20 minutes of feeding, combustible gas is produced. It first enters a cyclone dust removal system for purification, desulfurization, and dust removal. Then it enters a condenser to separate out wood vinegar and tar. The remaining gas is drawn by an induced draft fan to the outside of the carbonization reactor and used for heating.

Syngas and Waste Heat Reuse

Part of the waste heat gas can be used to heat the dryer, and the remaining gas is discharged through a dust removal system. The entire biomass pyrolysis plant adopts closed-loop operation and is equipped with dust collection and harmful gas treatment devices.

How to Choose Wood Biochar Production Equipment

Before purchasing wood biochar production equipment, companies must first clarify their production needs. This includes the planned scale of biochar production, whether it's small-scale pilot production or large-scale industrial production.

Different scales have vastly different equipment capacity requirements. Mingjie offers skid-mounted biomass pyrolysis machine MJT-100 and industrial wood biochar production equipment MJT-500, MJT-1000, MJT-2000, MJT-3000, and MJT-5000.

Waste Biomass Pyrolysis Plant

On-site inspection of wood biochar production equipment operation is an indispensable part of the purchasing process. Through on-site inspection, you can gain a direct understanding of the equipment's actual production capacity, operational stability, and ease of operation. Mingjie biomass pyrolysis equipment has been applied to biochar projects in several countries, including South Africa, South Korea, Vietnam, Chile, and Saudi Arabia.

Comprehensive after-sales service is an important guarantee when purchasing equipment. As a high-quality biomass pyrolysis equipment manufacturer, Mingjie Group promises to respond within 24 hours of receiving a fault notification. They also provide remote guidance or arrange for technicians to go to the site for repairs. In addition, Mingjie Group provides technical training services to ensure that biochar project operators can skillfully operate the equipment.
